Ladybug Feather 2020

A project created for the “Piórko 2020; Biedronka Award for Children’s Books” competition.
The story in the book tells the story of Malwina, who discovers souvenir photos left by her deceased grandfather. Each photo features a different person, each with a different tagline, such as “shopping on Saturday.” The main character states that this was her grandfather’s mission to help the various people in the photos. After his death, she decides to continue his mission of spreading help and care. The story takes place in autumn, so I decided to limit the color palette to warm tones. The only striking element is the delicate turquoise color – it’s symbolic, as it appears in the illustrations only when Malwina’s grandfather is mentioned. This color isn’t dominant – except for the last spread.
