“Ghost” from “The First” poster collection
The poster collection “The First” depicts the creation of the first woman. The plants that fill her body symbolize life. “Spirit” is the first stage. Plants surround the woman’s entire body, and the moment she opens her eyes is proof that the soul has entered the body. “Breath” is a veritable explosion of life-giving energy that completely fills the body. It is a metaphorical scene, the cry of a newborn child. The third stage, “I Am,” is the scene when the fully formed woman falls into a peaceful sleep. The plants no longer fill her—she has passed on this life-giving energy.
